Our History

Community Storehouse was founded in 2001 as a grassroots effort to feed the hungry in Martinsville and Henry County, VA -- once best known as the furniture & textile capial of the world; now best known for the highest unemployment rate in the state -- since then the nonprofit has grown into one of the largest influences on the fight against poverty and hunger in Southside Virginia. Community Storehouse is passionately pursuing a hunger free community.

Our Belief

It is our belief that the elimination of poverty and hunger from our community does not have to be a dream, but that it can be realized through the dedication of individuals and groups who share in one vision, act upon it, and continue to work towards its achievement.
